MORE ABOUT THE FORM OF ALL THINGS
The form of all things is an underlying structure that
permeates the skeleton of all systems. Using the form of
all things, it is possible to discover the underlying
archetypes of mind, brain, and nature, as well as human
thought. At a certain point it is not even important to
determine if it is true. These are primitive systems that
work for humans and for nature. Humans and nature use
them, our brains use them, they are basic to our concepts.
The form of all things can be presented in a number of
mathematical and geometric contexts rooted in the progression
in time and space associated with the mathematics of "Pascal's
Triangle." Everything begins with the here and now
infinitesimal phenomenological present as an infinitesimal point
of pretime and prespace that is the existential ground zero of all
other things, the atman, pneuma, jiva, spirit, soul, zen moment.
The form of all things can be observe as an underlying
archetype in systems theory: mutation, recombination,
expression, extinction and natural selection, genetic set
points and adaptive peaks, feedback to maintain
homeostasis, measurable results, analysis of input and
comparison to genetic set points as thermostats, isolation of
genetic systems and species formation. We have given
labels to this progression, associated them with ancient
labels such as the trigrams of the ancient Chinese classic,
the I Ching, Yi Jing, so mutation becomes the Heaven
trigram, the romantic temper, the aboriginal productive
orientation, the schizotypal personality, the metaphysical
thesis of an endless creation. The Lake trigram becomes the
symbolist and post-impressionistic temper, recombination
and hybrid formation in genetics, imperialism in economic
relations, the masochistic and avoidant personality, the
denial of the simple monad self in favor of a universe that is
complex in all things.
Expression is the Thunder trigram, the expressionist temper,
maladaptive genetic developments, the marketing
orientation in economics, the histrionic and borderline
personalities, the denial of the necessary being in
metaphysics in favor of a pragmatic cosmology. Natural
selection and extinction belong to the Flame trigram, the
cubist and dada tempers, the extinction of maladaptive
genes, the exploitative orientation in economics, the
antisocial personality disorder, the notion of freedom and
indeterminism in metaphysics.
Genetic set points belong to the Wind trigram, the classical
and renaissance tempers, paradigmatic genetic
developments, adaptive peaks, the hoarding orientation in
economics, the paranoid personality, the notion of a
necessary being in metaphysics. Feedback mechanisms
belong to the Water Pit trigram, the Baroque temper,
homeostasis maintaining feedback, the receptive orientation
in economics, the compulsive personality disorder, the
notion of determinism and no free will in metaphysics.
Factual results belong to the Earth trigram, the realistic and
naturalistic tempers, measurable phenotypes in genetics, the
utilizing and industrial productive orientation in economics,
the dependent personality disorder, the notion of a finite
universe with a finite time span in cosmology.
Analysis and input belong to the Mountain trigram, the
impressionistic and mannerist tempers, isolation and species
formation, as well as analysis of input, the isolating and
segregating orientation in economics, including the
republican opposition to the imperial, the narcissistic and
sadistic personality disorders, the notion of a simple
substance that is the soul, the monad of conscious now, the
purusha, the jiva in metaphysics and cosmology.
Heaven is opposed to Earth and Wind (or Air) to Thunder
(or Dust) and Flame (or Fire) to Water Pit (or Pottery or
Metal Bowl) and Mountain (or Salt) to Lake (or Water in
the mythological alchemy of Greek elements). This forms
an octahedron of eight sides, a cube of eight corners, a
buried cube-octahedron-pyramid with four above ground
faces and four buried below ground corners to form a
system of four polarities, four sets of eight polar opposites,
organized around three axial systems of six poles in three
polarities: fixed to flux (past to future, information and
system to energy), self to social (private to public, jiva to
cosmos, phenomenology to relativity), part to whole
(quantum to marcrocosm, bound to boundless, Maya to
Brahman-Nirvana).
The six poles are the faces of the cube and corners (vertex)
of the octahedron. The top of the pyramid is the jiva
phenomenology of the here and now present from within
private monad self. Its opposite is the buried cube of the
public world. The fixed and flux poles point up and down
the Nile. The part and whole poles point toward the Nile
and away toward greater Egypt, thus the left and right
hemispheres of the brain, the factual measurable here and
now against the transcendent hidden beyond from which
the here and now emerges. Thus, the symbol system of all
things.
The above is a cube-octahedron-pyramid rolled flat. The
eight trigrams shown above are the eight faces of the
octahedron, corners of the cube, with opposites as follows:
SALT to WATER, AIR to DUST, FIRE to POTTERY,
HEAVEN to EARTH. Water, Air, Earth, and Fire can also
be the faces of a tetrahedron, with Salt, Dust, Heaven, and
Pottery as the opposing vertex.
The center is the fixed information regulation past being
pole and the outer edges are the flux energy revolution
future becoming opposite. The top is the boundless whole
pole and the bottom is the bounded part opposite. The left
is the private singular self pole and the right is the public
associated copying opposite. These are the corners of the
octahedron, the edges of the tetrahedron, and the faces of
the cube. The left private singular pole is the top of the
pyramid of all being. The right opposite is the associated
copy hidden base of the pyramid of all being.
In terms of brain function, the part boundary bottom is the
factual left hemisphere and the boundless whole top is the
larger meaning orientation of the right cerebral hemisphere.
The private self on the left is centered in the cingular area
of the frontal portion of the frontal lobes and the association
public complement is in the association areas of the
posterior parietal, temporal, and occipital lobes. The center
of the system, fixed pole, is focused on the memory system
involving the hippocampus and associated temporal lobes in
the posterior cerebrum and the memory areas in the frontal
lobes of the anterior cerebrum, supported by attention
focusing areas in the thalamus and reticulate system. The
edges involve the limbic system, striated bodies, and
connections to the amygdala and mood controlling areas in
the lower brain and autonomic nervous system.
