We just assume that we know what truth is and what reason is and what reality is. One reason we are so certain
is the success of our economic, political, and technical systems, the success of our mathematics and our
science. But, the philosophers cannot agree on what is going on, what these mathematical, scientific, and
economic processes really are. We find that most things we come across are systems of some kind, like the
system that runs our heating and cooling system. There is a set point and a thermostat to control temperature at
that set point. The thermostat controls mechanisms that send feed back to heaters and air conditioners, turning
on and off mechanisms that heat and cool the air. The result is the maintenance of a particular temperature.
Molecules of gas in the air will move at a particular speed, faster with hot temperatures and slower with cool
temperatures. We can test these hypothesis by investigating one of these systems. We discover more complex,
or simpler, versions of them in various living things that keep some sort of stable body temperature.
Further investigation finds these systems functioning at various levels of organization from small to large. Thus,
we find energy organized into systems of subatomic particles and these into atoms and the atoms into molecules.
We have labelled these first four levels: photos, protos, atomos, and zymos (physics, particle physics, chemistry,
and molecular chemistry (often the chemistry of carbon compounds-organic, or of living things-biochemistry).
The next set of levels, cells, organisms, populations (tribes in humans), and human and biotic communities, we
have labelled bios, psychos (organisms with their tissues, organs, organ systems, etc.), anthros, and demos.
Mechanical systems appear at the next level, in living systems there is increased integration with the physical
world: thermos, electros, astros, synos. Thus, thermos is the ecosystem and human mechanical systems
supported by solar energy. Electros is electronic systems that penetrate the biosphere. Astros is the systems of
the planet. Synos is the systems of the Solar System.
The next set of levels, nymphos, daimonos, titanos, theos, is the transition from androids to god-like beings, from
science fiction and virtual reality to fantasy, mythology, and theology, from star clusters, to galaxies,
super-galaxies, universes and collections of universes.

into four and five dimensions of polarity. As they do, they turn upon themselves. Thus, the Universe tends to
take on the solipsism characteristic of the self and the self takes on the anti-solipsism normal to its universal
opposite. The pluralistic atomic quantum pole takes on a monist character and the monist universal infinite One
takes on a pluralistic aspect. As a result, science seems to provide a unitary view, while the larger megacosmic
vision of religion and mythology is plural and particular: astrological, animist, Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, Moslem,
atheistic, theistic, Jungian, etc, etc. The best way to escape from the solipsist boundaries of this cosmos is
through the infinitesimal window of the jiva, of the subjective being from within soul. The mind appears to be tied
to the probabilistic and mechanistic operations of the brain. Only a prequantum infinitesimal being from within
anima, jiva, soul, spirit can provide a hidden exit into existential inexistence for the free will and the spirit, trapped
in the mechanistic materialism of monist science.
The bizarre result is that there is no real progress in human knowledge. Progressive understanding of the
physical world only traps the suffering consciousness in the left hemisphere of fact and all of its external and
alienated forms of being, in a narcissistic, sadistic, even antisocial point of view. If the scientist knows far more
about left brain fact and local relativistic reality than the shaman, if astronomy is superior to astrology in
understanding the how and what of life, each step on this path takes us further from deep right brain meaning,
deep connections, from hidden significance revealed to the symbol, the magical ritual, the shamanistic vision.
Thus, progress is actual regress, each step forward takes us two steps back. Only the magical view, the
astrological view, the theological view can tell us why, can reveal the Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva, Hen, Nous, Pneuma
source, the deep why, the why that understands that infinite flux makes the improbable probable and the
unexpected expected, the fabulous and fantastic likely, not in the here and now of local fact, but in the infinite
extension of that fact that is its true father and true mother and true creator and provider, in the great endless
buddhamind that entertains all creative alternatives and all deep and extended things, that provides the passion
that is the inside of energy and the mind that complexes within the multidimensional systems that underlie the
deep roots of all simple external form.

endless (Vishnu) flux (Shiva). Perceived reality (Pneuma) must have enough systems order ( Nous) to generate
organs that can sustain consciousness, but there are many universes that never reach the level of perception
within the One (Hen).

Christian trinity. In Christian mythology, the Father often plays a similar role to the Neoplatonic "Hen," and the
Holy Spirit seems to play the role of the Logos-Nous, or Holy Wisdom (Santa Sophia). This wisdom emerges as
the manifest word (logos), the word that takes form in the incarnation of the Son (embodied spirit, Pnuema). In
Hinduism, this trinity might be Brahman (Hen), Dharma (Nous), Atman (Pneuma), particularly Pneuma in an
Avatar, a manifest aspect of divinity, as God made flesh. This Brahman-Hen-Tao-Nirvana- One is the polar
opposite of the atomic particulate quantum world. In a similar fashion the
Buddha-Christ-Atman-Avatar-Jiva-Pneuma-Solipcistic-Monad-Self is the polar aspect of the relativistic cosmos,
the social world of public existence.
But true reality changes particles into waves, matter into energy, time into space. Complementary opposition and

Macrocosm. Local pain breaks open to cosmic joy and love. Suffering makes awareness possible at the
